The next Virginia Week for the Animals will take place TBA. Join us in planning this historic week for Virginia animals!
Visit our Animal World USA 'Weeks for the Animals' website www.weeksfortheanimals.org to see how other states celebrate the week.
Also visit the site to see how United Kingdom Week for the Animals, Africa Weeks for the Animals and India Week for the Animals celebrate their communities and animals.
Throughout the week, shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hostingcommunity animal-related special events. Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across will be joining in
with activities to celebrate and help animals.
Events will include adoption fairs, spay/neuter events, shelter & sanctuary days, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, educational activities for farm animals and therapy dogs visiting hospitals and living-assisted homes.
Also to be included are a salute to our K-9 military and police dogs, cat educational initiatives, bikers for animals event, special programs, blessings for the animals, and fun-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the amazing animals!
Please become involved! We urge animal lovers everywhere to come together and plan. See the "Become Involved" page for great ideas and suggestions on what you can do. Please contact us for other ideas and to brainstorm.
Note we will be adding events and activities up to the kick off of the week. We all seek to collectively celebrate this very special Virginia Week for the Animals! Together we will create new, lasting friendships and make history for the amazing animals.
